Protomaters

A protomater is a hypothetical substance believed to have existed in the very early universe, prior to the formation of standard matter. It is theorized as a fundamental building block from which all subsequent particles and forces emerged. The concept of protomater arises from attempts to reconcile various cosmological models and understand the conditions of the universe shortly after the Big Bang. While not directly observable, theoretical physics suggests that in the extreme energies and densities of the primordial universe, matter and energy might have existed in a more unified and less differentiated state. This proto-state could have possessed different fundamental properties than the quarks, leptons, and bosons we observe today. The transition from protomater to the familiar Standard Model particles is thought to have occurred during a period of rapid expansion and cooling, possibly involving phase transitions similar to those observed in everyday materials, but on a cosmic scale.
