Produktionsvärdet is a Swedish economic term that translates to "production value." It represents the total value of goods and services produced by an economic entity, such as a company, industry, or entire economy, within a specific period. This value is typically measured at current prices.

In essence, Produktionsvärdet captures the output of economic activity before any deductions for intermediate consumption. Intermediate consumption refers to the value of goods and services used up in the production process itself, such as raw materials or energy. Therefore, Produktionsvärdet is a gross measure of output.

It is a key indicator used in national accounting to understand the scale and contribution of different sectors to the overall economy. For instance, when analyzing the agricultural sector, Produktionsvärdet would sum up the market value of all crops harvested and livestock produced. Similarly, for a manufacturing firm, it would be the total sales value of all finished goods produced.

While Produktionsvärdet provides a broad picture of economic output, it is often distinguished from gross value added (GVA).
