Prekmurjes

The Prekmurjes, also known as the Prekmurci, are an ethnic group primarily residing in the northeastern region of Slovenia, known as Prekmurje. They are one of the country's recognized national minorities, alongside the Slovene majority and the Hungarian minority. The Prekmurjes speak a dialect of the Slovene language, which is distinct from the standard Slovene language used in the rest of Slovenia.
