Predikátumnévként is a term used in linguistics, particularly in the study of semantics and grammar, to refer to a noun or noun phrase that functions as a predicate. This means it describes or identifies the subject of a sentence. In many languages, including Hungarian from which the term originates, such constructions are common.

A predicate noun typically follows a linking verb, such as "to be," "to become," or "to seem." For example, in the sentence "She is a doctor," the noun phrase "a doctor" functions as a predicate noun, identifying what "she" is. Similarly, in "He became a teacher," "a teacher" is the predicate noun.
