Postsynaptickému

Postsynaptickému refers to the postsynaptic side of a synapse, which is the junction between two nerve cells or between a nerve cell and a muscle cell. This side of the synapse is typically the dendrite or cell body of the receiving neuron, or the muscle fiber in the case of a neuromuscular junction. When a neurotransmitter is released from the presynaptic neuron, it travels across the synaptic cleft and binds to receptors located on the postsynaptic membrane. This binding triggers a response in the postsynaptic cell. In neurons, this response can be either excitatory, causing the postsynaptic neuron to become more likely to fire an action potential, or inhibitory, making it less likely to fire. The nature of the response depends on the type of neurotransmitter and the specific receptors present on the postsynaptic membrane. The postsynaptic potential, which is the electrical change that occurs in the postsynaptic neuron, can be a depolarization (excitatory postsynaptic potential, EPSP) or a hyperpolarization (inhibitory postsynaptic potential, IPSP). These potentials are crucial for the integration of signals within the nervous system and for the transmission of information from one cell to another.
