Polypeptidových

Polypeptidových refers to compounds that are polypeptides. A polypeptide is a single, continuous chain of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds. These chains are formed during protein synthesis when ribosomes translate messenger RNA (mRNA) sequences. The number of amino acids in a polypeptide can vary greatly, from a few to thousands.

When a polypeptide chain folds into a specific three-dimensional structure, it can function as a protein. The sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide determines its final shape and, consequently, its biological function. Some polypeptides are biologically active on their own, while others require further modification or association with other polypeptides to become functional proteins. The study of polypeptides is fundamental to understanding protein structure, function, and the biological processes they are involved in, such as enzyme activity, structural support, and signal transduction. The term "polypeptidových" is the genitive plural form in Czech, indicating "of polypeptides" or belonging to polypeptides.
