Polipéptídicas
Polipéptídicas refers to molecules composed of multiple amino acids linked together by peptide bonds. These chains can vary significantly in length, from short oligopeptides consisting of just a few amino acids to very long polypeptides containing hundreds or even thousands of them. The sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide determines its unique three-dimensional structure, which in turn dictates its function within a biological system. Proteins are essentially functional polypeptides, meaning they are polypeptides that have folded into a specific shape and are capable of performing a particular biological role. Polypeptides are the fundamental building blocks of proteins and play crucial roles in virtually all biological processes, including enzyme catalysis, structural support, and cell signaling. The synthesis of polypeptides occurs in ribosomes through a process called translation, where the genetic code carried by messenger RNA is used to assemble the amino acid sequence.
