Pintaaallot
Pintaaallot, also known as the Painted Ladies, are a group of 35 historic houses located in the Alamo Square neighborhood of San Francisco, California. These houses are renowned for their distinctive red and white paint scheme, which was popularized in the late 19th century. The term "Pintaaallot" is a corruption of the Spanish word "pintadas," meaning "painted."
The houses were built between 1880 and 1910 and are primarily examples of Queen Anne and Stick/Eastlake
The houses are owned and maintained by the City and County of San Francisco. They are open
