Panserförsvar
Panserförsvar, also known as tank defense, refers to the defensive strategies and equipment used to protect armored vehicles, such as tanks, from enemy fire. It encompasses a range of measures, including armor plating, reactive armor, and active protection systems. Armor plating is the primary form of defense, designed to withstand the impact of projectiles. Reactive armor, such as the Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) used by many modern tanks, detonates upon impact to neutralize incoming rounds. Active protection systems, like the Israeli Trophy system, use radar and other sensors to detect incoming threats and deploy countermeasures to intercept or destroy them. Panserförsvar also involves tactics such as using terrain to conceal and protect tanks, as well as coordinating with other units to provide mutual support. The effectiveness of panserförsvar is crucial in modern warfare, where armored vehicles play a significant role in both offensive and defensive operations.
