Paksuushöylät

Paksuushöylät, also known as thickness planers or jointers, are woodworking machines designed to create smooth, flat surfaces on lumber and to reduce boards to a uniform thickness. They are essential tools in both professional woodworking shops and for hobbyists.

The primary function of a paksuushöylä is to remove material from a workpiece to achieve a desired thickness. This is typically done by feeding the wood over a rotating cutter head equipped with blades. The depth of the cut can be adjusted, allowing for precise material removal. This process is crucial for preparing rough-sawn lumber for subsequent joinery or finishing.
