PIP2binding

PIP2 binding refers to the interaction between the lipid molecule phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) and various proteins. PIP2 is a crucial signaling molecule found in the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane. Its presence and distribution are highly regulated, and it plays a vital role in a multitude of cellular processes.

Many proteins have specific domains or motifs that recognize and bind to PIP2. These PIP2-binding proteins are involved in a wide array of cellular functions, including membrane trafficking, cytoskeletal dynamics, ion channel regulation, and signal transduction.
