For example, "Opiskelen ahkerasti, jotta pääsisin hyvään yliopistoon" (I study diligently so that I can get into a good university) uses jotta to introduce the purpose clause. Another common structure is "Hän meni kauppaan ostamaan maitoa" (He went to the store to buy milk), where the infinitive construction with the translative case, "ostamaan," expresses the purpose.
