Orotava

La Orotava is a municipality in the northern part of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. It is situated in the Valle de La Orotava, a volcanic valley that opens toward the Atlantic and lies just inland from Puerto de la Cruz. The area forms part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The historic center preserves traditional Canarian architecture, with balconied houses, narrow streets, and plazas. The Casa de los Balcones, a 17th-century house known for its wooden lattice balconies, is a prominent example and hosts crafts exhibitions and a museum. The parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Concepción and other religious buildings reflect the town’s historical development.
