Ohutusventiilid

Ohutusventiilid, also known as safety valves, are devices designed to protect systems from overpressure by automatically releasing excess pressure. They are commonly used in various industries, including oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation, to ensure the safety and reliability of equipment and processes.

Safety valves operate based on the principle of differential pressure. They consist of a disc or a poppet that is held in place by a spring. When the system pressure exceeds a predetermined set point, the differential pressure overcomes the force of the spring, causing the disc to lift and allowing excess pressure to escape. Once the pressure returns to a safe level, the spring forces the disc back into its seat, sealing the valve.

There are different types of safety valves, including spring-loaded, pilot-operated, and balanced bellows valves, each suited for specific applications and pressure ranges. Proper selection, installation, and maintenance of safety valves are crucial for their effective operation and to prevent potential hazards such as explosions or equipment failures.

Safety valves are typically tested and certified according to international standards, such as those set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) or the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Regular inspections and periodic testing are recommended to ensure the continued reliability of safety valves in critical systems.
