Närvilihasühendus refers to the neuromuscular junction, the specialized synapse where a motor neuron communicates with a muscle fiber. This junction is crucial for voluntary movement, allowing the nervous system to control muscle contraction. The process begins when an electrical signal, an action potential, travels down the motor neuron's axon. Upon reaching the axon terminal, it triggers the release of neurotransmitters, primarily acetylcholine (ACh), into the synaptic cleft, the small space between the neuron and the muscle fiber.
