Nytreceptors are a hypothetical class of sensory receptors that have been proposed to detect novel environmental stimuli. The concept of nytreceptors arises from the observation that biological organisms possess a wide array of sensory modalities, allowing them to perceive various aspects of their surroundings, such as light, sound, touch, smell, and taste. However, it is conceivable that environments might contain stimuli or physical properties for which current known receptor types are not attuned.
