Nyiroktörzseks

Nyiroktörzseks, or lymphatic trunks, are large lymphatic vessels that collect lymph from specific regions of the body and drain it into the venous system. These trunks are formed by the convergence of smaller lymphatic vessels, such as lymphatic capillaries and collecting lymphatic vessels. There are typically several main lymphatic trunks, each draining a distinct area.

The major lymphatic trunks include the intestinal trunk, which collects lymph rich in fats from the digestive system, and the lumbar trunks, which drain lymph from the lower limbs, pelvic organs, and kidneys. Other important trunks include the subclavian trunks, responsible for draining the upper limbs and a portion of the chest, and the jugular trunks, which drain lymph from the head and neck.

These trunks eventually empty into the thoracic duct or the right lymphatic duct, which are the two largest lymphatic vessels in the body. The thoracic duct collects lymph from the majority of the body, while the right lymphatic duct drains the right upper quadrant. Lymphatic trunks play a crucial role in returning interstitial fluid, proteins, fats, and other substances to the bloodstream, maintaining fluid balance and supporting the immune system. They are a vital component of the lymphatic system's overall function.
