Noviodunum
Noviodunum was a Gallic oppidum, or fortified settlement, located near the modern town of Nevers in Burgundy, France. It was a significant center for the Arverni, a powerful Gallic tribe. The Romans first encountered Noviodunum during Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars.
