Notsustainable is a term used to describe practices, systems, or processes that cannot be maintained over the long term without depleting resources or causing irreversible damage. This concept is most frequently applied in discussions of environmental, economic, and social issues.

Socially, notsustainable systems are those that fail to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This can manifest as persistent inequality, lack of access to essential services, or social unrest, all of which undermine societal well-being and stability. The opposite of notsustainable is sustainable, which implies a balance between current needs and the capacity of future generations to meet their own.
