Nitritációval
Nitritációval is a term that refers to the process of nitrification, a crucial step in the nitrogen cycle. It involves the microbial oxidation of ammonia or ammonium into nitrite, followed by the oxidation of nitrite into nitrate. This biological process is primarily carried out by specific groups of bacteria and archaea. In the first stage, ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) and archaea convert ammonia into nitrite. In the second stage, nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) further oxidize nitrite into nitrate. Nitrification is vital for both natural ecosystems and engineered systems like wastewater treatment plants, as it converts potentially toxic ammonia into less harmful nitrate, which can then be assimilated by plants or undergo denitrification. This transformation also plays a role in soil fertility, as nitrate is a readily available form of nitrogen for plant uptake. Environmental conditions such as temperature, pH, and oxygen availability significantly influence the rate of nitritációval.
