NeumayerStation
Neumayer Station is a German Antarctic research station operated by the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research. It is located on the Ekström Ice Shelf in West Antarctica. The current station, Neumayer III, was commissioned in 2009. It is a modular research station designed to withstand the harsh Antarctic environment, including extreme cold and strong winds. The station is situated on stilts to allow for snow accumulation underneath without compromising its structure.
