Nettosähkövaraus

Nettosähkövaraus is a Finnish term that translates to net electric charge. It represents the overall electrical charge of an object or system. In physics, electric charge is a fundamental property of matter that causes it to experience a force when placed in an electromagnetic field. Charge can be positive or negative, and these charges are carried by elementary particles such as protons (positive charge) and electrons (negative charge).

The net electric charge of an object is the sum of all the positive and negative charges within it. If an object has an equal number of protons and electrons, its net electric charge is zero, and it is considered electrically neutral. If an object has more electrons than protons, it will have a net negative charge. Conversely, if it has more protons than electrons, it will have a net positive charge.

The principle of conservation of electric charge states that the total net electric charge of an isolated system remains constant, meaning charge can neither be created nor destroyed, only transferred from one object to another. This principle is fundamental to understanding many electrical phenomena, including electrostatics and electric current. The unit of electric charge in the International System of Units (SI) is the coulomb (C).
