NettoNullEmissionen
Netto Null Emissionen, often referred to as Net Zero Emissions, is a state where the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere is balanced by the amount removed from the atmosphere. This does not necessarily mean zero emissions of greenhouse gases, but rather that any residual emissions are offset by activities that absorb carbon dioxide, such as afforestation or carbon capture technologies. The goal of achieving net zero emissions is a central tenet of global efforts to combat climate change and limit the rise in global temperatures to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Paris Agreement.
Achieving net zero requires a significant transformation of global energy systems, industrial processes, and land use.
