Mõõtühikuteks

Mõõtühikuteks is an Estonian term that translates to "units of measurement" in English. It refers to standardized quantities used to express physical quantities such as length, mass, time, temperature, and electric current. These units provide a common reference point for measurements, ensuring consistency and comparability across different contexts and regions.

Throughout history, various systems of measurement have been developed and used. However, the need for a universally recognized system led to the establishment of the International System of Units (SI) in 1960. The SI system is the modern form of the metric system and is the most widely used system of measurement worldwide. It comprises seven base units: the meter (m) for length, the kilogram (kg) for mass, the second (s) for time, the ampere (A) for electric current, the kelvin (K) for thermodynamic temperature, the mole (mol) for amount of substance, and the candela (cd) for luminous intensity.

In Estonia, as in most countries, the SI system is the official system of units of measurement. This ensures that scientific research, trade, and everyday life operate with a consistent and internationally understood framework for quantifying physical properties.
