Másutt

Másutt is a fictional coastal municipality created for this article. It is situated in the Valorian Archipelago, on the southern shore of the island of Soru, facing the Strait of Halen. The town sits at the edge of a tidal estuary and a mangrove fringe, giving it a mixed maritime and agricultural landscape.

Name derives from the old Lyrin term masutt meaning "sheltered inlet," though local legends attribute it to a historic trade guild. The population is roughly 11,000 people, with a mix of coastal fishers, farmers, and service workers. The local language is Lyrin, with widespread use of a regional lingua franca.

Másutt developed from a fishing village in the medieval period, grew through trade during the early modern era, and adopted municipal status in the 19th century after the expansion of the harbor. A significant port expansion in the 1960s spurred diversification into aquaculture and tourism.
