Munuaistiehyitä, also known as renal tubules, are microscopic structures within the kidneys responsible for processing filtrate from the glomerulus and forming urine. The primary segments of the renal tubule include the proximal convoluted tubule, the loop of Henle, the distal convoluted tubule, and the collecting duct. In the proximal convoluted tubule, a significant amount of reabsorption of water and solutes occurs. The distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct further fine-tune the composition of urine, responding to hormonal signals to adjust water and salt balance.
