Multispektrikameror

Multispektrikameror, also known as multispectral cameras, are imaging devices that capture image data within specific wavelength bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. Unlike standard cameras that typically capture red, green, and blue light, multispectral cameras are designed to record light in several distinct spectral regions. These regions can include visible light bands as well as invisible portions of the spectrum, such as near-infrared (NIR), short-wave infrared (SWIR), or thermal infrared.

The core principle behind multispectral imaging is that different materials and objects reflect or emit electromagnetic radiation differently across the spectrum. By capturing data in multiple specific bands, multispectral cameras can differentiate between these subtle spectral signatures. This allows for the analysis of surface properties and composition that would be indistinguishable in a standard color image.

Multispectral cameras are utilized in a wide array of applications. In remote sensing, they are crucial for environmental monitoring, agricultural analysis (e.g., assessing crop health, soil conditions), geological surveying, and urban planning.
