Multispektrikamera

A multispectral camera is an imaging device that captures image data within specific wavelength bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. Unlike a standard camera that typically captures visible light (red, green, and blue), a multispectral camera is designed to acquire images in multiple, discrete spectral bands, which can extend beyond the visible spectrum into the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) regions.

These cameras often utilize specialized sensors and filters to isolate and record light at these chosen wavelengths. The specific bands captured depend on the camera's intended application. For instance, a multispectral camera might capture bands for near-infrared (NIR) and short-wave infrared (SWIR) in addition to visible light.

The data produced by a multispectral camera is not a single color image but rather a collection of images, each representing the scene at a particular wavelength. These individual images, or bands, can then be analyzed and processed. By examining how different materials reflect or emit radiation across these various spectral bands, one can derive unique spectral signatures. This allows for the identification and differentiation of objects or substances that may appear similar in a standard visible-light image. Applications range widely, including remote sensing for agriculture and environmental monitoring, medical imaging, industrial inspection, and scientific research.
