Muhos
Muhos is a former municipality in the northern part of Finland, located in the region of Oulu. It is situated about 30 kilometers south of the cities of Oulu and Ylivieska. The municipality had a population of around 9,000 people before merging with Siikalatva in 2013. The name "Muhos" is derived from the name of its landscape, which is divided into two parts: the rural areas known as "Muho" and the smaller Muhos Church area. The municipality was one of the largest in Northern Finland. Before the 19th century, most of its areas were uninhabited rural areas. Muhos was one of the lowland municipalities.
