Motivabgrenzung

Motivabgrenzung, also known as motivational boundary, is a concept in organizational psychology that refers to the point at which an individual's motivation to perform a task decreases significantly. It is the boundary between the zone of proximal development and the zone of actual development, as proposed by Lev Vygotsky. In the context of work, motivabgrenzung occurs when an individual's motivation to perform a task decreases due to the task becoming too easy or too difficult. When a task is too easy, the individual may become bored and lose motivation. Conversely, when a task is too difficult, the individual may become frustrated and lose motivation. Understanding motivabgrenzung is crucial for managers and leaders to design tasks that are challenging yet achievable, thereby maintaining high levels of motivation and productivity among employees.
