Morphologynumber is a term used in linguistics to describe the number of morphemes in a word. A morpheme is the smallest unit of meaning in a language. For example, the word "unbreakable" has three morphemes: "un-" (meaning not), "break" (meaning to fracture), and "-able" (meaning capable of being). Therefore, the morphologynumber of "unbreakable" is three.
Words can be classified by their morphologynumber. Monomorphemic words, such as "cat" or "run," consist of only
