Montmirail

Montmirail is a commune in the Marne department in northeastern France. It is located approximately 25 kilometers west of Épernay. The town sits on a hill overlooking the Petit Morin River valley.

Historically, Montmirail is known for its strategic location and the Battle of Montmirail, which took place on February 11, 1814. This battle was part of Napoleon's campaign against the Allied forces during the War of the Sixth Coalition. Napoleon's outnumbered French army achieved a victory over the Prussian and Russian forces.
