Molsúlyára is a Hungarian term that translates to "molar mass" in English. It represents the mass of one mole of a substance, typically expressed in grams per mole (g/mol). The molar mass is a fundamental property of chemical compounds and elements, essential for stoichiometric calculations in chemistry. It is numerically equivalent to the atomic or molecular weight of the substance, but with units of mass per amount of substance.

To determine the molar mass of an element, one consults the periodic table for its atomic weight. For a compound, the molar mass is calculated by summing the molar masses of all the atoms present in its chemical formula. For example, the molar mass of water (H2O) is calculated by adding twice the molar mass of hydrogen (approximately 1.008 g/mol) to the molar mass of oxygen (approximately 15.999 g/mol), resulting in a molar mass of about 18.015 g/mol.
