Mittehemolüüs refers to the absence or lack of hemolysis, which is the rupture or destruction of red blood cells. Red blood cells, also known as erythrocytes, are vital components of blood responsible for transporting oxygen. Hemolysis occurs when the cell membrane of a red blood cell breaks down, releasing its contents, including hemoglobin, into the surrounding plasma. Mittehemolüüs, therefore, signifies that this process is not happening.
