Mikrojen
Mikrojen, also known as microalgae or microphytes, are microscopic, unicellular or multicellular organisms that inhabit both freshwater and marine environments. They are a diverse group of organisms that include diatoms, dinoflagellates, cyanobacteria, and chlorophytes, among others. Microalgae play a crucial role in the ecosystem as they are primary producers, contributing significantly to the global carbon cycle and oxygen production. They are also used in various industries, such as food, cosmetics, and biofuel production. Microalgae can be found in a wide range of habitats, including planktonic communities, benthic environments, and even in extreme conditions like hot springs and deep-sea vents. Their small size and rapid reproduction rates make them highly adaptable to changing environmental conditions. Despite their importance, microalgae are often overlooked due to their microscopic size, but their impact on the environment and human activities is substantial.
