Micelliyhteenliittymän, often translated as micelle association or micelle formation, refers to the process by which amphiphilic molecules, such as surfactants, aggregate in a solvent, typically water, to form spherical structures called micelles. These molecules possess both a hydrophilic (water-loving) head and a hydrophobic (water-repelling) tail. In an aqueous environment, the hydrophobic tails are driven to associate with each other to minimize contact with water, while the hydrophilic heads orient outwards, interacting with the surrounding water molecules.
