Masthoff

Masthoff is a Dutch television channel that primarily broadcasts children's programming. It was launched on November 1, 2005, as a joint venture between the Dutch public broadcaster NPO and the commercial broadcaster Talpa. The channel's name is a portmanteau of the words "mas" and "televisie," which translates to "children's television" in Dutch.

Masthoff's programming consists mainly of animated series, live-action shows, and educational content aimed at children aged 4 to 12. Some of its most popular shows include "De Fabeltjeskrant," "De Kameleon," and "Sesamstraat." The channel also broadcasts international children's programming, such as "Peppa Pig" and "Bluey."

Masthoff is available through digital terrestrial television, cable, and satellite providers in the Netherlands. It is also available online through the NPO Start platform. The channel is funded through advertising and sponsorships, as it is a commercial entity.

Masthoff has won several awards for its programming, including the Prix Jeunesse International Award for Best Children's Television Channel in 2010 and 2011. The channel has also been recognized for its educational content and its efforts to promote Dutch culture and language among children.
