Maasdonk
Maasdonk is a former municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It was formed in 1994 through the merger of the former municipalities of Geffen and Nistelrode. The municipality was named after the Maasdonk, a low-lying area of peatland. Its territory encompassed the villages of Geffen, Nistelrode, and Heesch. In 2011, Maasdonk merged with the municipality of Oss. This administrative change led to the dissolution of Maasdonk as an independent entity. The former villages of Geffen and Nistelrode are now part of the municipality of Oss. The area is characterized by a rural landscape, with a mix of agricultural land and natural areas. Historically, the region's economy was largely based on agriculture. Following the merger, the administrative functions previously handled by Maasdonk are now managed by the municipality of Oss. The geographical location of Maasdonk was in the northeastern part of North Brabant, close to the river Maas.
