MRQAP
MRQAP, an acronym for Multiple Regression Quadratic Assignment Procedure, is a statistical method used in social science research to test the relationship between two matrices. It is particularly useful in network analysis, where it helps to determine whether the observed relationships between two networks are statistically significant or if they could have occurred by chance.
The MRQAP method involves the following steps:
1. Generate a large number of random permutations of one of the matrices.
2. For each permutation, calculate the correlation between the permuted matrix and the second matrix.
3. Compare the observed correlation to the distribution of correlations obtained from the random permutations.
