M109A2s

The M109A2 is an armored self-propelled howitzer that served with the United States Army and various other military forces. It is an upgrade to the earlier M109 howitzer, featuring improvements primarily focused on reliability and maintainability. Key enhancements over its predecessor include a redesigned turret, improved armament stabilization, and a more robust suspension system. The M109A2 is equipped with a 155mm M185 howitzer, capable of firing a variety of ammunition types, including high-explosive, smoke, and illumination rounds.

This artillery system is designed to provide direct and indirect fire support to ground troops. It is operated by a crew of six, including a commander, gunner, driver, and three ammunition handlers. The M109A2 has a maximum road speed of approximately 35 miles per hour and an operational range of around 220 miles.
