Lämpövuotokoe

Lämpövuotokoe, often translated as a thermal leak test or heat leakage test, is a method used to assess the energy efficiency of buildings and other structures. The primary goal of a lämpövuotokoe is to identify areas where heat is escaping from a building during cold weather or entering the building during warm weather. This helps in pinpointing insulation deficiencies, air leaks, and thermal bridging.

The test is typically conducted by measuring temperature differences across building components or by using specialized equipment. One common method involves creating a controlled temperature difference between the inside and outside of the building. Infrared thermography is frequently employed, where an infrared camera captures images that reveal temperature variations on the surfaces of walls, windows, and roofs. Another approach involves a blower door test, which depressurizes the building to draw air in from leaks.
