Lämmönvirtaus

Lämmönvirtaus refers to the transfer of thermal energy from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature. This fundamental process is a key concept in thermodynamics and is responsible for many phenomena in the natural world and in technological applications. There are three primary mechanisms by which lämmönvirtaus occurs: conduction, convection, and radiation.

This is how a radiator heats a room or how boiling water circulates in a pot.

Radiation is the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves, such as infrared radiation. Unlike conduction and convection, radiation does not require a medium to travel. The Sun warming the Earth is a prime example of heat transfer by radiation. All objects above absolute zero temperature emit thermal radiation.
