Luotettavimmat

Luotettavimmat is a Finnish adjective form meaning “the most reliable” when referring to multiple items or people. It is the plural superlative of luotettava, used to describe the most dependable ones within a group, source, or set.

It is typically used attributively before a noun, as in luotettavimmat lähteet (the most reliable sources), luotettavimmat autot (the most reliable cars), or luotettavimmat työntekijät (the most reliable employees). It can also be used predicatively with the copula: Nämä ovat luotettavimmat. In the singular, the corresponding form is luotettavin.

Luotettavimmat is common in journalism, product reviews, research, and everyday speech when ranking reliability. However, perceptions of reliability are context-dependent; criteria such as consistency, evidence, sample size, and potential biases influence what is considered “the most reliable.”

Grammatically, -immat marks the plural superlative and agrees with the noun in number. In other cases (e.g., genitive, partitive, or adessive forms), the ending of luotettava’s modifier adapts to the noun’s case, and speakers may use alternative word orders to maintain natural syntax.
