Liukenemiskäsittelyt, commonly referred to as leaching in English, are processes used to selectively dissolve and remove one or more components from a solid mixture using a liquid solvent. The principle behind leaching is based on the difference in solubility of the components in the chosen solvent. The solid material, containing the desired component and impurities, is brought into contact with a solvent in which the desired component is soluble but the impurities are not, or vice versa.
