Linjayksivaihejännite

Linjayksivaihejännite refers to a specific type of voltage measurement in a three-phase electrical system. In such systems, power is transmitted through three alternating current (AC) conductors, each carrying a voltage waveform that is offset in time from the others. Linjayksivaihejännite specifically measures the voltage between one of these phase conductors and the neutral conductor.

This is distinct from phase-to-phase voltage (linjajännite), which measures the potential difference between any two of the phase conductors. The neutral conductor, when present, is typically connected to ground at the source and serves as a return path for current in unbalanced loads. Therefore, linjayksivaihejännite represents the voltage available to single-phase loads connected between a phase and the neutral.

The relationship between linjayksivaihejännite and linjajännite depends on the configuration of the three-phase system. In a common Wye (or Star) configuration, the linjayksivaihejännite is approximately the linjajännite divided by the square root of three (√3). For example, in a 400V/230V system, 400V is the linjajännite and 230V is the linjayksivaihejännite. Understanding this distinction is crucial for proper electrical design, equipment selection, and safety in industrial, commercial, and some residential applications.
