Lihasstruktuuri

Lihasstruktuuri refers to the structural organization of muscle tissue. In vertebrates, there are three primary types of muscle tissue: skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle. Skeletal muscle is characterized by its striated appearance, due to the organized arrangement of actin and myosin filaments into sarcomeres. These muscles are voluntary and responsible for movement. Cardiac muscle, also striated, forms the walls of the heart. Its cells are interconnected by intercalated discs, allowing for coordinated contractions. Smooth muscle, found in the walls of internal organs like the digestive tract and blood vessels, lacks striations and is under involuntary control. The arrangement of muscle fibers within these tissues, from the microscopic level of sarcomeres and myofibrils to the macroscopic organization of fascicles and whole muscles, dictates their function and capabilities. Understanding lihasstruktuuri is crucial for comprehending muscle physiology, biomechanics, and the impact of various diseases and injuries on muscle function.
