Levónás is a Hungarian term meaning deduction or subtraction, used to describe amounts that are subtracted from a gross figure to arrive at a net figure. The noun is formed from the verb levonni, to withdraw or subtract, with the suffix -ás.

In payroll and taxation, levonások are the withholdings or deductions required by law or contractual terms. Mandatory levonások typically include personal income tax (SZJA) and social security contributions, health insurance, and pension contributions, calculated and remitted to state authorities by the employer. Other deductions may include union dues, loan repayments, or wage garnishments, if applicable by law or court order. Employers must apply levonások in a prescribed order and report net wages to employees.

In accounting and invoicing, levonások appear as subtraction items on statements, reducing gross revenue or expense totals to net figures. The concept also appears in general contracts to describe amounts deducted from fees or payments.
