Lausemuotoa is a Finnish grammatical term that translates to "clause type" or "sentence form." It refers to the structural classification of a sentence or clause based on its function and composition. In Finnish grammar, lausemuotoa helps categorize sentences into different types, such as declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory. Each type serves a specific communicative purpose and has distinct syntactical features.

Declarative sentences, or kertolauseet, are the most common type, used to state facts or express opinions. Interrogative sentences, or kysymyslauseet, are used to ask questions. Imperative sentences, or käskylauseet, are used to give commands or make requests. Exclamatory sentences, or huudahduslauseet, express strong emotion.
