This is a common method for companies to raise capital, allowing them to fund growth, investments, or acquisitions. The key characteristic of a laajennusjako is that it is typically offered at a discount to the current market price of the shares. This discount incentivizes existing shareholders to participate and subscribe to the new shares.

The process of a laajennusjako involves several steps. First, the company's board of directors decides to propose a share issue to the shareholders.
