Kéztcsontok

Kéztcsontok is a Hungarian term referring to the bones of the hand. The human hand is a complex structure composed of 27 bones, which are divided into three main groups: the carpals, the metacarpals, and the phalanges.

The carpal bones, or wrist bones, are eight small bones arranged in two rows. The proximal row, from the thumb side to the little finger side, consists of the scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, and pisiform. The distal row includes the trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, and hamate. These bones form the wrist joint, allowing for a wide range of motion.

The metacarpal bones are the five long bones that connect the carpal bones to the phalanges. They form the palm of the hand. Each metacarpal bone articulates with a carpal bone at its proximal end and a phalanx at its distal end.

The phalanges are the bones of the fingers and thumb. Each finger has three phalanges: a proximal, a middle, and a distal phalanx. The thumb, however, has only two phalanges: a proximal and a distal phalanx. These bones are responsible for the fine motor skills and dexterity of the hand, enabling actions like grasping and manipulating objects. The intricate arrangement and articulation of the kéztcsontok allow for the remarkable functionality of the human hand.
